Every painting begins with it and develops intuitively through layers of texture until a sense of balance emerges.

Colour has always been my language

I am an abstract artist based in the UK whose work explores colour, texture and perception through layered, tactile surfaces. My compositions reveal new details and relationships over time, inviting viewers to engage with the work from multiple perspectives.

My practice is guided by intuition rather than rigid plans. I build surfaces slowly, allowing colours to interact, contrast and harmonise until a sense of balance emerges. Texture plays a central role—not simply as a finishing element, but as a way of giving colour physical presence.

I am particularly drawn to experimenting with layered materials and three-dimensional applications, creating surfaces rich in depth and complexity. From a distance, a painting may appear as a unified composition, while closer observation reveals intricate textures, subtle details and unexpected relationships. As light shifts and the viewer moves around the work, colour and surface continue to transform, offering new visual experiences.

I hope my work encourages viewers to slow down and look more closely. Rather than revealing everything at once, each piece invites repeated observation, with colour, texture and light offering new discoveries and interpretations over time.

A woman with dark hair, wearing a blue sweater and a leopard-print bracelet, is holding a small child in a beige baby carrier while standing by an easel. The easel displays a painting with blue, black, tan, and white splatters. There are windows and a brick wall in the background.
